Citizens and residents in the Kingdom have become more concerned about traffic violations, according to statistics released by the National Information Center (NIC) of the Interior Ministry.

Data suggest that concerned authorities have received millions of traffic-related queries in just one year.

More than 155.5 million inquiries about traffic violations were registered in 2012, followed by queries about the balance of payments for the sectors, which exceeded 94 million inquires, according to the NIC statistics.

Meanwhile, the queries for medical insurance validity ranked the third place as it registered nearly 32 million instances, followed by queries for residence validity which reached more than 25 million. Queries about vehicle insurance registered 22.6 million.

The Interior Ministry's website, through its Absher program, offers more than 100 electronic services for 16 of its sectors, including the ministry itself, the Passport General Department, the Interior Ministry's Agency for Civil Affairs, mayoralties, the General Administration department of recruitment, and the General Directorate of Narcotics Control.

The number of registered users in Interior Ministry's electronic gate reached more than 4 million citizens and residents each year, according to statistics of the National Information Center.

Registration on the website offers persons particular e-services, such as access to personal information, and enables them to apply for the Ministry of Interior services and sectors, to follow-up transactions provided to Interior Ministry and its sectors, and to know the rules and regulations on the roads.
