Rashid Al-Shahran, a Saudi citizen who suffers from a rare skin disease known as antiphospholipid syndrome that causes the erosion of his skin, has requested authorities to help him secure treatment for his condition. He said the disease has hindered his quality of life. Despite being only 35 years of age, Al-Shahran has been forced to retire because of the disease, thus increasing his physical and financial suffering.

The disease has caused frequent venous clots and venous ulcers in his right leg for more than 5 years, said Al-Shahran. He has undergone several surgeries to close these veins, but without success, he said.

Al-Shahran has appealed to specialist hospitals to treat his disease or refer him to specialized hospitals abroad, as he has spent most of his life searching for a cure for this rare disease.

He said he discovered on the Internet that there is a cure for this disease in Germany, and is appealing to authorities to help him access this treatment and alleviate his suffering.
