JEDDAH: The Technical and Vocational Training Council of Makkah and the Ministry of Haj are once again ready with the “Emergency car repair service” program for the current Haj season.

A team of auto professionals and mechanics from the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation (TVTC) will serve pilgrims by providing free car maintenance services on the highway, and around Makkah and its holy sites.

Faisal Kudas, the president of the Technical and Vocational Training Office and the general supervisor of the Training Program for Haj, said the emergency car repair program and other related services from the TVTC creates jobs for youth as well as encourages their participation in other sectors.

“Importantly, such services also provide the best facilities to pilgrims, so that they can perform the Haj rituals without any problems,” he said.

Other services include “electrical and equipment maintenance program” and “free haircut for pilgrims” program, both in Mina.

Kudas said the car repair program and other TVTC services will help enhance the technical skills of the youth and attract many qualified trainers to the area to provide job opportunities on the basis of their services. Ayman Mahrouqi, one of the team leaders in the car maintenance scheme, said the program consists of four groups, each of which will have a specialist technical engineer and three trainees.

The trainers and technicians will be equipped with latest gadgets at each of their field sites, while there will also be emergency maintenance teams and field tours, which will be conducted under the supervision of Fahad Ali Al-Harthy, Ayman Al-Jilani and Mohamed Noor.

Services will be stationed near the Makkah Mosque and roads leading to the Holy sites in Makkah, starting from the Jeddah–Makkah highway at Shameisy, as well as close to the car park for pilgrims on the Madinah-Makkah highway, and at the Taif–Makkah road near the entrance at the police check point, in addition to other locations.
