RIYADH: The state-owned Technical and Vocational Training Corporation (TVTC) has announced here that the enrollments this year have soared to 100,000 — both boys and girls.

According to the organization head, new projects will meet the needs of the labor market in various technical fields with the cooperation of international colleges and institutes and strategic partnerships with private industrial and institutes sector.

Ali Al-Ghafees, TVTC governor, said the projects this year will focus on the need for professionally trained locals in line with the developments in technical and vocational training sector at all levels. The TVTC continues its expansion policy to raise the capacity of the training units in order to provide technical and vocational training to young people with quality and efficiency, he said.

The TVTC will run 20 new branches of technical colleges in various regions to work in conjunction with other modules, bringing the number of branches of colleges to 44 for boys, Al-Ghafees said.

“The organization still needs the cooperation of global colleges that are run in partnership with a number of colleges of applied global and institutes. They are providing the highest international standards for technical training in terms of training services,” he added. He stressed that the organization take over the training process at all of its units, saying that it is crucial to provide skills needed and required by every sector of business sectors.

The steps to be taken in the new training year will also focus on the expansion of disciplines and areas of technical quality directly related to the business need, Al-Ghafees added.
