RIYADH: As a show of support for pilgrims, Riyadh-based Technical and Vocational Training Corporation (TVTC) will be deploying 600 young Saudis to serve pilgrims this year.

The move is in compliance with directives of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman.

According to TVTC Governor Ali Al-Ghafis, TVTC has been involved in the operation for the last 12 years. He said the organization will work with concerned sectors and provide technical assistance that will enable pilgrims to perform their rituals in a hassle-free manner.

Ghafis explained that TVTC made advance preparations based on an action plan to make use of the human and technical capabilities they have in place in areas that directly touch on the needs of the guests of this country. TVTC cadres will provide technical support, programming, computer networks and auto mechanics in addition to maintenance on electric cars, air conditioning and refrigeration.

This year TVTC’s participation will include maintenance of the Red Crescent equipment in cooperation with the Saudi Red Crescent Society and maintenance of civil defense equipment in cooperation with the General Directorate of Civil Defense.

They will also help fix cars that are in need of emergency service in cooperation with responsible government bodies, in addition to participating the country’s programs for animal sacrifices in collaboration with the Islamic Development Bank Group, and the program, “safe razor,” in collaboration with the Secretariat of the Holy City.
