The Specialized Criminal Court in Riyadh has sentenced two citizens to various jail terms and restrictions for violating border security and going to Yemen to join Al-Qaeda.

One of the convicts was sentenced to two years and six months in prison under Article 15 of the Implementing Regulations of the border security. He also faces a travel ban for five years under Article (6/2) of travel documents system.

The other man was sentenced to three years in prison and banned from traveling for five years. The travel ban will be imposed on both the convicts following their release from jail after serving their terms.

The main accused violated the border security system by entering Yemen irregularly and returning home in the same way. He also aided the other defendant and his brother to leave for Yemen illegally and tried to persuade his wife to accompany him to Yemen and join Al-Qaeda there.
