RIYADH: Civil Defense in Al-Jouf recovered two bodies from a drainage pool in Dumat Al-Janda, while citizens were able to save the third person. First Lt. Abdulrahman Al-Dwaihi, deputy spokesman of the Civil Defense in the region, said the control and command center in Dumat Al-Jandal received information that three persons had fallen into the drainage pool.
“The specialized teams moved immediately to the scene and recovered the bodies of two boys, aged 14 and 15, at a depth of five meters.
The third, an 11-years-old boy, was saved by citizens present at the site before our teams arrived. He was moved to the hospital for treatment and his health condition is stable,” said the spokesman.
Meanwhile, security authorities in Hafr Al-Batin arrested a 17-year-old man who stole sound equipment from a mosque in the province, and then offered to sell it online.
He was referred to the competent authorities for further procedures, according to police spokesman Col. Ziad Al-Ruqaiti.
Separately, Qasim police have arrested a person who tore apart a Holy Qur’an at a mosque in Buraidah, after the news on the incident was circulated on social media.
Badr Al-Suhaibani, Qassim police spokesman, said that culprit was identified and arrested.
“The man’s actions showed he suffers from a mental illness. He was referred to the Bureau of Investigation and Public Prosecution,” said the spokesman.
Also in Buraidah, the Civil Defense rescued a mother and her four children who were trapped inside their house with smoke resulting from a fire.
Col. Abdulaziz Al-Tamimi, deputy Civil Defense spokesman in Qasim, said the mother and her kids were taken to hospital, and the fire was extinguished.
Also, a truck driver was killed in a crash while he was driving on the road to Makkah in Wadi Laban. Civil Defense and Saudi Red Crescent teams handled the incident.
