JEDDAH: The Ministry of Education has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Ministry’s Curriculum and Educational Programs Department and Umm Al-Qura University’s Business and Creativity Department in Jeddah.
The agreement was signed by Mohammed bin Attiyah Al-Harthi, undersecretary of the Curriculum and Educational Programs Department and Nabil bin Abdul Qadir Koshak, Umm Al Qura University’s vice president for the Business and Creativity Department, in the presence of the Minister of Education Ahmed bin Mohammed Al-Isa, Bakri bin Matouk Asas, dean of the university, and Wadih Ben Ali Barqawi, Dean of the Creativity Institute and Entrepreneurship at the University.
The MoU was signed for the preparation and training of employees at the Ministry of Education in the fields of leadership and development, among other goals. Additionally, the MoU is expected to support the ministry’s quarterly system of secondary education, and will provide the necessary means by which to achieve its key objectives, including ‘practical skills,’ ‘leadership skills’, and the promotion of ‘work values and ethics.’
Al-Isa said that such an agreement will help the ministry to develop the educational curriculum, and will contribute to the generation of better educational techniques that support improved communication between the ministry and the schools. He also pointed out that all of these stages are foundational to the development of secondary education, in particular.
Matouk Asas said that the signing of the MoU with the Ministry of Education, in conjunction with the follow up and attention of the Minister of Education, Ahmed bin Mohammed Al-Isa, is to ensure the provision of the best programs and scientific research for the community.
Nabeel Koshak also said this memorandum comes as part of the plans drawn up by Umm Al-Qura University to make it among the leading universities in the world, adding that it will contribute to playing a national role in scientific expertise and creativity.
Wadih Ben Ali Barqawi also thanked deputy President for the work of all parties to the MoU in achieving the national goals of improved quality and innovation in the education sector.
