Haj Minister Bandar Hajar yesterday dissolved the board of directors of the Tawafa Establishment for Iranian Pilgrims because of its poor performance.

“The board of directors did not achieve the desired welfare goal of the Ministry of Haj whereas the ministry expects outstanding services from each tawafa establishment,” Hajar said in a statement.

Another reason for the dissolution is the differences of opinion between the board members, the SPA reported yesterday.

The minister has reconstituted the board of directors after the dissolution, and hoped that the new board will start implementing the development plans under the sponsorship of the ministry.

“There should not be any slackness or negligence on the part of tawafa establishments because efficient and quality performance is a matter of trust involving all,” the minister said hinting at stringent action against any establishment that fails to serve pilgrim as desired by the government.

The minister added that his ministry would honor establishments that offer excellent service to domestic or foreign pilgrims in a befitting manner.
