NEW YORK: Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman is due to meet UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon on Wednesday, Saudi ambassador said on Saturday.

The Saudi royal will be in New York next week for meetings with business leaders after a visit to the US West Coast, UN officials told Reuters.

“An official request has come to the office of the secretary-general for a meeting with the deputy crown prince and as soon as we’re able to confirm something we shall,” UN spokesman Stephane Dujarric said.

Saudi UN Ambassador Abdullah Al-Moallami told Reuters that the meeting had been confirmed for Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Prince Mohammed held meetings with a number of specialized companies in the domain of military industries at his residence in Washington.

He met separately with presidents and senior staff of the Boeing, Raytheon International, and Lockheed Martin International companies.

The meetings discussed Vision 2030, targeting indigenization of military industries and industrial, technical and training services.

Company leaders welcomed the Kingdom’s ambitious programs, expressing willingness to actively participate in them.
