RIYADH: The United States will extend its fullest support in the implementation of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 and its National Transformation Plan 2020.
"We are here to deepen and strengthen the bilateral relations as a follow-up to the talks held recently between US President Barrack Obama and Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, second deputy premier and minister of defense, on the implementation of the Saudi 2030 Vision,” Adewale “Wally” Adeyemo, deputy director of White House’s National Economic Council, said at a press conference held here at the US Embassy on Thursday.
Adeyemo is a member of the current US delegation led by US Treasury Secretary Jacob Lew, who met Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and the GCC finance ministers in Riyadh on Thursday.
The delegation also held discussions with Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Commerce and Investment Minister Majid Al-Qassabi in the implementation of the Vision 2030 goals.
Describing Vision 2030 as an ambitious plan, the visiting official said the implementation of the proposal will not only benefit the Kingdom but also be beneficial to other countries, including the United States. “It is heartening to note the commitment of the people of the Kingdom in achieving the Vision 2030 goals,” he said, stressing that the United States will extend its fullest cooperation to the government toward achieving the set goals.
Spelling out the areas of cooperation that could be extended for the successful implementation of the Vision, Adeyemo said that his country has identified four areas: trade and investment, fiscal and structural reforms, climate change and labor force development.
He said that he had the opportunity of meeting a group of young Saudi entrepreneurs and he was happy that the country is blessed with such a young enthusiastic group who can forge ahead to achieve the proposed Vision.
