Residents in the Al-Nahda and Al-Talha districts of Khamis Mushayt have complained that vendors, who set up camps at major intersections during Eid were disrupting traffic.

They said many vendors are moving out of the main market place and setting up tents and stalls near 80th Street, a phenomenon they argued has been fueled by lack of proper enforcement and monitoring by local authorities.

Residents said they have been suffering for years from the foul odor of cattle and waste emanating from the market, as well as the heavy congestion that has blocked entrances into their homes.

Citizen Ali Al-Saharani said the area’s locals are demanding the municipality and local authorities to intervene and force vendors to move back into the original market as per regulations in order to facilitate.
