Large numbers of visitors continue to flock to the families’ exhibition in Al-Baha, the first of its kind in the Kingdom. The exhibition expected to last until next Tuesday is being held at the King Abdulaziz cultural center in Al-Baha.

More than 150 families from various regions of the Kingdom are participating in the exhibition under the aegis of the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs, Development and Social Security Committees at the Ministry of Social Affairs, and the National Program for industries and handicrafts, in addition to ten bodies that are supporting national products and offering discounts on the occasion of the 84th Saudi National Day.

Chairman of the Exhibition Committee Tariq Moaidh Al-Zahrani said that the exhibition is drawing both male and female visitors who mostly arrive in the evenings.

“The exhibition has a number of booths displaying various products such as pottery, fronds, knitted wear, embroidered items, perfumes, handicrafts and accessories for men and women,” he said. He added that the there are also decorative items, fashionable dresses and popular traditional food being sold at the exhibition.

Al-Zahrani explained that with such a high attendance of people, it’s hard to estimate sales revenues. “It needs specific standards and constant monitoring,” he said noting that many participants are calling upon the committee to extend the exhibition for a couple of more days. “Their keenness to extend the duration of the exhibition indicates that they are making good profits,” Al-Zahrani said, adding that this is one of the goals of the National Program.

Al-Zahrani said that the Exhibition Committee had helped make the selling process easier for the productive families particularly through the exhibition which had given them a unique opportunity to showcase their products and persuade customers to buy them.

The Exhibition Committee aims to enhance the marketing abilities of families and strengthen their abilities to become active members in the social and national development process.

A large number of participants took part in ten training courses as well as male and female workshops in handicraft-making and projects establishment. Al-Zahrani said that those who acquired workshop certificates from the social security beneficiaries will benefit from financial support from the social security and the Human Resources Fund.

With such enriching experience and nationally-famed products, Al-Zahrani invited all families to come and visit the exhibition and enjoy the enriching atmosphere as well as the beautiful weather of Al-Baha.
