JEDDAH: The Criminal Court in Jeddah released a businessman on bail after 25 days of detention in connection with a raid on a place around Jeddah where a mixed party was in progress.

The well-known businessman was accused of participating in the preparation of the location, purported to be a chalet, where some immoral acts took place.

Meanwhile, the Bureau of Investigation and Public Prosecution ordered the arrest of the resort manager in Jeddah and his assistant of Moroccan nationality who both are believed to have fled the country following the raids conducted on the chalet on the third day of Eid Al-Fitr. The raid was based on a tip-off. An arrest warrant has been issued for the duo.

Reports said Haia raided the place with the support of security forces and arrested the businessman, and some participants and officials from the resort.

The sources said that the initial charges against the businessman involved preparing the place for the mixed-gender party, where unethical acts were reported. He was detained for investigations before being released on bail recently.

According to new details, more than 50 men and women found in the chalet on the beaches of Jeddah have been detained, a local newspaper said. All those arrested during the raid conducted by the authorities were of Arab nationalities.

Security members found liquor and other prohibited substances. Some drunk women were also found.

According to latest reports, the manager of the chalet fled the Kingdom to Dubai and his son to London. The sources said the chalet was closed permanently two days ago and a lawsuit will be filed against the owner and manager.
