RIYADH: Water and Electricity Minister Abdullah Al-Hussayen signed agreements for implementation of water and sewage projects worth SR534 million for various regions in the Kingdom.

An official from the Water and Electricity Ministry said on Tuesday that the ministry made separate allocations for these projects to be executed across the Kingdom to address water supply and maintenance problems.

These projects include maintenance of water and sewage supply in Alkhobar; water purification and supply maintenance in Onaizah and water supply stations in other parts of Al-Qassim Province; work to develop, operate and maintain the treatment plants in the Eastern Province; operation and maintenance of water plants and technical points in Jazan; operation and maintenance of drainage systems and the treatment plant as well as household water supply at Al-Kharj in the Riyadh region; maintenance of drinking water projects in the villages of Al-Jouf region; operation and maintenance of the treatment plant and storage tanks at Bisha in Asir Province; cleanliness of drinking water, supply network wells in Najran and maintenance and water stations cleanliness at the General Directorate of Water in Madinah.

The ministry has also set a time frame for all projects to be completed meeting the prescribed deadlines.
