After allegedly stabbing his wife to death following an argument that broke out in their car, the Saudi perpetrator bolted from the vehicle and was run over by a passing car, an electronic newspaper reported yesterday quoting security sources.

Sabq.org said the incident took place on Thursday while the husband and wife were returning home from a family visit in the Khansa district of Makkah. “The man took a knife and stabbed his wife several times until she died,” the report said.

The man stopped his car near Al-Khair petrol pump on Sharaie Street and ran out leaving his wife inside the vehicle bleeding. While he was running away, the man was hit by another car on Muaisem and is in critical condition at Al-Noor Hospital, Sabq.org said.

The women’s body has been transferred to King Faisal Hospital mortuary where an autopsy will be performed. Makkah police spokesman Lt. Col. Abdul Mohsen Al-Maiman has confirmed the report.
