The Jeddah municipality has announced that the overpass project at the Cycle Roundabout will be delayed by at least another six months due to the work being suspended temporarily.

Mohammed Al-Buqami, head of public relations in the municipality, said in a press statement: “The project has been suspended to allow for the redesigning of the bridge to avoid the high power electricity cables,” adding that the deadline for the project’s completion has been extended.

He explained that the project is a two-way bridge with a length of 583 meters and width of 13.5 meters, with three traffic lanes in each direction.

The project, at an estimated cost of SR82 million, is not the only one to be delayed. Other delayed projects include the bridge at the intersection of Palestine Street with Prince Metab Street, a two-way bridge at the intersection of King Fahd Road with Heraa Street, and another two-way bridge at the intersection of Madinah Road and Haleema AlSaeeda Road.
