JEDDAH: More than 2,000 spectators attended the two shows of the World Circus from Russia, Ukraine and Uzbekistan on the opening day north of Obhur on Saturday.

Twenty international performers and acrobats performed astonishing acrobatic moves and acts in a spectacular show for two hours, which amused the audience.

Event organizer Waleed Alfi said World Circus is part of the month-long Jeddah Summer Festival 2015, which was launched to provide entertainment for the people of Jeddah.

The show was action-packed from beginning to end with all the excitement of the “old-school” traditional family fun circus.

Performances by the world’s funniest clowns, high flying daredevils, acrobats, magicians, contortionists, balancing acts and aerial ballet enthralled the audience as the Russian, Ukrainian and Uzbekistani circus stars lined up an exciting and energy-packed show.

“We brought some of the hottest acts and stunts from Moscow, Ukraine and Uzbekistan that are unbelievable; the performers are also thrilled to be performing for the first time in Jeddah. There are a lot of new and special acts for families to put a smile on children’s faces and make them laugh, and take their breaths away,” said Alfi.

Atika Ahmed, one of the attendees with her family and children, praised the acts of the clowns from Moscow, Ukraine, and Uzbekistan.

“It was an exciting and wonderful experience to have an international circus here in Jeddah; it was not only amazing for adults but also very entertaining for children,” she said.

The two shows are open on 7:30 p.m. and 10 p.m. Families and children are able to have maximum fun watching daring acrobatics, gymnastics, jugglers, the ring of death, and clown show.

Each show accommodates 1,000 spectators at one time and will continue for the month-long event.
