JEDDAH: The Special Criminal Court in Riyadh has sentenced a Yemeni man to six years in prison after convicting him of supporting terrorism in Yemen.
The man was accused of sending mobile phone messages hostile to the Kingdom.
He was also convicted of supporting terrorism through receiving money from a person in the Kingdom and handing it over to a fighter in Yemen.
The Yemeni man reportedly used forged residence and driving licenses, and twice entered the Kingdom illegally.
The sentencing, which commences from the date of his arrest, was based on Royal Decree No. 44, dated 3/4/1435, the Anti-Cyber Crime Law (6), the Anti-Money Laundering Law (16), Anti-Forgery Law (5-6), and the Border Security Law (15).
Meanwhile, a citizen convicted of murder, was executed Sunday. An Interior Ministry statement said Saad al-Zahrani was executed in Jeddah for shooting dead a fellow Saudi in a dispute.
