A young Saudi man is set to reunited with his family members in Khamis Mushayt province after a 23-year long hiatus.

The young man was living without identification documents in Sharourah Province, according to sabq.com, an Arabic online daily.

The case of the missing young man came to light when his relatives and siblings reportedly discovered the similarity of his name with the name registered on his vaccination card, the paper said.

The father died in 2005 so the family decided to meet their brother to confirm his identity and additionally conduct DNA tests to prove his biological relationship with his siblings.

The paper had earlier published a report on the young man living in Sharourah Province since his birth. Fearing arrest by authorities for not possessing identification papers, the man remained confined to his house supported by his mother.

He had previously been arrested while he was traveling between Sharourah and Namas provinces in search of his father. About to be deported, he was only released when his mother arrived and presented his vaccination card.

The young man told the media that he doesn’t have any identification documents due to his mother being divorced and separated from his father while she was carrying him and until her delivery. He is also illiterate because he was denied admission to school.

A few years ago, he went to Namas Province and applied for a national identity card but failed.

He was also denied the right to work which forced his mother to work as a cleaner in a school to fulfill his needs.
