A young scientist from Makkah is participating in one of the world’s most prestigious DNA research conferences in Europe.

Majid Faisal Al-Ghraibi is among one of the top 20 graduates selected worldwide to participate in the Next Generational DNA sequencing research by the European Organization for Molecular Biology.

“The conference will plan strategies and discuss the use of new generation DNA and analysis of biological information, using computers and developing software and data base for research purposes,” he said.

He said that Pasteur Institute of France, Europe’s most prestigious bacteria and scientific research organization, is conducting the program. Gharaibi who studied in Britain under the King Abdullah Foreign Scholarship program is one of the pioneers in DNA research field in the Kingdom.

His articles on DNA research have been published by American scientific journals.
