JEDDAH: The Zubayda Al-Asafani volunteer team undertook 1,767 women’s emergency cases in Makkah and the holy sites.

Team leader Dr. Asma Al-Rifai revealed that most of the cases were due to exhaustion and diseases related to blood pressure and low glucose levels.

She said most of these women were dealt with onsite while others were sent to medical clinics inside the Haram.

Medical supervisor Dr. Abrar Aydroos said the team gave medical care in the Haram and Nimra Hospital on the 10th, 11th and 12th of Dul Hijjah.

The Saudi Red Crescent also distributed 5,000 oxygen tanks as well as medical equipment, chairs and other medical services.

Khaled bin Salem Al-Habashi, head of the Haj and Umrah administration in Makkah, said the Saudi Red Crescent is now executing its third plan for the Haj this year with a follow-up by Prince Faisal bin Abdulaziz, head of the Saudi Red Crescent. He is following up on Hajis from now until they depart from the Kingdom.
