A group of 89 Saudi youths graduated from the Saudi Electronics and Home Appliances Institute (SEHAI) this week at the institute’s headquarters in Diriyah.
Prince Ahmed bin Abdullah, governor of Diriyyah, distributed the certificates to the second batch of students who graduated from the institute.
The morning event was held in the presence of Prince Mohammad bin Khalid Al-Abdullah Al-Faisal, SEHAI chairman of the board of trustees; Ali bin Nasser Al-Ghafis, governor of the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation; Japanese Ambassador Shigeru Endo; and Seiji Hirota, secretary-general of the Japan Cooperation Center for the Middle East (JCCME).
“This is the second graduation ceremony of SEHAI. It is heartening to note that the graduates have successfully completed their studies following two years of hard work and now they are qualified to work in service centers and maintenance workshops of the electronics and home appliances maintenance workshops in the Kingdom,” SEHAI Director Fahad Al-Harbi said.
Al-Harbi recalled the great contribution made by electronics and home appliances companies and the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation, which gave its full support to this program. He also expressed his thanks to other organizations, such as the Human Resources Development Fund and the JCCME.
Since its inception in 2009, Ambassador Endo said, the institute had made great efforts. It sent 67 promising Saudi youths to the local market last year. This year, another 89 students have graduated, who would find employment easily because of the demand.
The envoy recalled that SEHAI in May got a prestigious award from Labor Minister Adel Fakeih in the presence of Abdul Rahman Al-Jeraisy, chairman of the Riyadh Chamber of Commerce and Industry, for being an excellent institute that had developed local skills to contribute to the Kingdom’s Saudization programs.
In his speech, Al-Ghafis said SEHAI is a symbol of strong friendship between Japan and the Kingdom. “It also displayed the role of active private sector participation from the two countries,” he noted.
