RIYADH: The first major event of the new season at Nofa Golf Resort takes place on Friday with the 3rd Annual Nofa Golf Tournament 2016 in association with Riyad Bank.
As usual, the tournament never fails to kindle interest from various golfing communities in the central region. For this year’s edition of the individual stroke play competition 100 players confirmed participation with 19 on the waiting list.
The tournament is divided into three handicap categories namely men’s Division-A 0-15 handicap, men’s Division-B 16-18, and ladies Division 0-36.
Each participant will receive a goody bag that contains Greg Norman polo shirt, cap, a sleeve of Titleist golf balls, golf towel, hat clip with ball marker and a tournament bag tag.
The major prizes include 4 Ping G drivers and a hole-in-one prize of a Hyundai Santa Fe SUV worth SR100,000 sponsored by Arabian Shield. Also, valuable raffle draw prizes will be given away.
This is the second consecutive year Riyad Bank agreed to be the tournament title sponsor. Hyundai Wallan Company is gold sponsor while Northern Trust and Almarai are silver sponsors.
Upcoming events are December Monthly Medal on Dec. 17, a Saturday, January Monthly Medal sponsored by AlFalwa Company on Jan. 14 next year and Almarai Golf Tournament on Jan. 21.
The monthly medal with sponsors will be running on year-round basis.
Owned by Prince Sultan bin Mohammed bin Saud Alkabeer, the safari-themed Nofa Golf Resort inside the Nofa Resorts complex is located some 85 kilometers west of Riyadh along the new Makkah highway.
