RIYADH: The Triskelion International-Central Region Council (TI-CRC) will organize the 9th Lions Cup Women’s Open Volleyball Tournament with the opening ceremony set for Friday.

Under the theme “We rise by lifting others” the tournament takes place at Kingdom Hospital Quadrangle.

Tournament Chairman John Merven Gamboa said 16 teams are seeing action from various hospitals and international schools with players of different nationalities.

The sponsors are: Indomie, First Cloud Cargo, Little Caesars, Centerpoint, Fawri, Cebu Pacific and RCA.

According to TI-CRC Chairman Christopher Reyes, this friendly tournament aims to promote healthy lifestyle among women in Riyadh and generate funds to benefit the following: 1.Tahanan ni Maria (Home for the Aged), an institution in the Philippines that caters to both male and female elderly, who are abandoned, neglected and needy. 2. Home for the Girls, an NGO that helps victims of rape and other crimes against women and children. They are committed to provide basic needs such as foods, clothing, shelter and health care. 3. Distressed (OFWs), Victims of domestic violence who want to return home or move to safety as well as provision of basic necessities.

The TI-CRC has always been active in diverse community services for noble causes as part of its social responsibility to the Filipino community.
