Ace Breakers Tennis Club (ABTC) had a field day in category LMX, scoring an immaculate 4-0 win against a surprised Jeddah Ranao Tennis Club (JRTC) octet while DJ Auto Parts secured the first three sets before losing the fourth set as it coasted to a 3-1 victory over Flexpack in the B2 category in the 5th ALBAIK Tennis Challenge 2013 at the Al-Bilad and Sheraton courts in Jeddah Corniche.

ABTC’s LMX team took nothing for granted and began the match like a house on fire when its starters Roel Manarang and Reynaldo Amosco raced to an 8-4 victory against JRTC’s Hakim and Abdullah to grab the first set. This was then followed by Nilo Borata and Saipoden Dianalan’s 8-5 conquest of Art and Mario Betorio in the second set to notch a 2-0 lead midway in the match. Sensing victory, Eduard Tugade and Rogelio Reyes closed out JRTC in the third set winning 8-4 over Tanny and Mohaimen Maruhom to post a 3-0 lead and win the match for ABTC. Playing for points in the fourth set, Erick and captain Egay Go posted an 8-2 drubbing of Ben Micu and Acmad Sani for the 4-0 (32-15) victory to put ABTC in the winning column after a heart-breaking one-point loss 2-2 (27-26) against RPM-Renegades.

In another match, DJ Auto Parts scored its first win in the B2 category, 3-1 against Flexpack. Team captain Marlon Ordono and Carlo Guese took the first set at 8-5 against Bennie Oandasan and Lito Mosquera followed by Jun Ordonez and Nour Panizales’ 8-3 victory over Omar Magno and Ronnie Alvarez in the second set. In the third set, Amin partnered with Romeo Espino to secure the 8-4 win against Jojo and Jhun and the match at 3-0 with still a set to play. Aiming for a sweep, DJ Auto’s Ben Consolacion and Allan Basa were stymied at 6-8 as Flexpack’s Jologs and Albert Madriaga took the set for a 3-1 (24-20) final match score for DJ Auto Parts.
