ACE Travels completed its unbeaten title run in the ACE Travels Cup Premier Division Cup, beating arch rivals Pak Green-XI by six wickets in the final as Mohammad Mouzam hit a magnificent knock of 144 runs and ACE skipper Parvez Khan remained unbeaten on 44 runs.

This t tournament is sponsored by the ACE Travels & Tours and organized by the Jeddah Cricket Association (JCA).

Match summary:

Pak Green, batting first, made a respectable total of 242 for 9 wickets in their allotted 25 overs. They got a big jolt Abdul Wahid was bowled out for just 9 runs but Qamar Javed 34 & Aamir Wahla 75 runs in 53 balls kept the scoreboard rolling. Wickets were falling at regular intervals but the run rate maintained ten runs per over as Aamir Wahla stood at the crease but from other end the batsmen could not hold the slide of the wickets. Jahangir 27, Rizwan Ashraf 20 not out contributed runs along with Mr. Extras 53. Abdul Wahid was the most successful bowler with 3-50, Rashid Mehmood 2-45 , while Shehzad Ahmed, Maqsood & Iftekhar one wicket each for 28, 31 & 35 runs respectively.

In reply, ACE reached their target 243-4 in 21.4 overs and won the match by 6 wickets. ACE Travels opener Abdul Wahid was in hurry and run out from a brilliant throw from Imran for just 4 runs. His partner Shahzad Ahmed was looking comfortable but edged to the outgoing delivery from Imran for 3 runs. ACE panicked as their third batsman Maqsood also went for 7 runs. They were 17 for 3 in the second over but ACE Travels skipper Parvez Khan upgraded himself and took the challenge to stop the slide of the wickets. he had shown good patience & had rotated the strike well with a the single & double with a rare boundaries but Mouzam was in different mood as he was blasting each & every bowler he faced except for one chance he did his best and accelerated the score to the asking rate. He survived a Noman Aslam delivery as the wicket keeper dropped his catch. A record 202 runs partnership between Mouzam 144 of 75 balls his innings was decorated with (12x4 & 9x6) and Parvez Khan remained unbeaten on 44 to put ACE Travels on driver’s seat. Mouzam displayed some excellent stroke play, he middled the ball perfect and cleared the boundary like a rocket whether it is through the boundary for four or over the boundary for a six.

The prize distribution function took place on the ground after the final match. Azizullah Sheriff was the master of ceremony. The program started with the recitation from the verses of holy Quran by Mustafa Mirza Qudrath Baig. Shamshad Ahmed Khan, director finance ACE Travel Group, attended the function on behalf of chief guest ACE Travel Group General Manager Ashfaq Aleem Ahmed and Mohammad Ali Jarrar Regional Director Western Region. Also present were other sponsors’ representatives namely Syed Khaja Mohiuddin, Operations manager Western Region, and Syed Ashfaque’ Hussain, liaison officer.

JCA Chairman Dr. Faiz Al Abideen, Mohammad Iqbal President, Aijaz Ahmed Khan Vice President all praised the Saudi Cricket Center for the development of cricket in the Kingdom with various tournaments for the cricketers through the association of different regions and also participating in the international events under ACC & ICC giving the local cricket talents international exposure. Mohammad Habeeb manager of ACE Travels handed over cash awards to each member of ACE Travels. Separate cash prize was also awarded to Man of the Final Mohammad Mouzam.
