Advance Co. came together as a team and chased down its first Team of the Week award during the 10th session in the Thursday League 12th Conference for Globe Cup at the Bowling City in Sultanah Center here.

Advance used a fast start en route to a top tally of 32 points, well in front of Al Murjana, which came in second on 27 points with Alliance in Motion Global a point adrift on 26.

D’ Barkads was the the other team to cross 20 points on 23 in fourth place on the night.

Lifebuoy and Habagat, whose thrilling battle for honors marked the last week’s action, tied on 18 points. Al Kabeer Frozen Foods suffered a blow in its bid to wrest the lead from D’ Barkads with a disappointing 14.5 points.

As a result, Al Kabeer dropped from second to fifth place in the team standings in the five-man team tournament sponsored by Globe.

Jeddah 5KKB and Bulacan Knight brought up the rear on 14 and 7.5 points.

Faisal Relativo of Al Murjana shot the night’s high series of 652 to become the Bowler of the Week on lines of 215, 182 and 213.

Going first-second in the first two games, Advance had team manager Richard Junio leading from the front on 627. Rey Feliciano added 568 and Rene Punzalan 552. With two games contributions were Danny Bautista 206-193, Pancho Cuevas 202-215 and Sham Mustafa 229-232.

The two best scorers actually came from Murjana with Relativo’s teammate Mhon Laxamana coming up with 650 (174, 215, 207).

Obie Ycasas and Jojie Manalansan were the other players to go the distance for Murjana on 592 and 544. Thong Langa had 158-170 and Rene Ocampo 158.

Veteran bowler Cris Villavelez led Alliance with 609 followed by Nanding Siasoco on 595 and Sami Al Qarni on 566. Frank Afurong made 177-190, Archie Santos came through with 199-205 and Ed Butardo tossed in 197-165.

D’ Barkads stuck to a five-man rotation that Romy Bunagan led on 623. Rey Beltran fired 600 that went with the 571 by Dan Ednave, 569 by Leo Edejer and

560 by Ed Sardiña.
