JEDDAH: Al-Arabi defeated Sunbulah 108-100 in Game 1 of the best-of-three championship in Group A division of the Titan Watch-JBL Invitational Basketball Tournament at Khalidia court here.
Al-Arabi showed a big fighting heart in the final quarter as Sunbulah was ahead by 10 points with five minutes remaining. The Arabi defense held up well as Sunbullah missed shots. De Boss top-scored with 32 points for Al Arabi and was adjudged as the Titan Watch best player of the game while Pasugnod scored 38 points for Sunbullah.

R Printing 40’s of Ric Santos beat Khalidia 40’s 103-91 for the second spot in the 40 & above finals. R Printing’s offense was unstoppable in the fourth quarter. Jameel Cobre chipped in 22 points for R Printing 40’s and was adjudged as the Giordano best player of the game while Batalon led Khalidia 40’s with 17 points.
Knights of coach Rey Maddatu defeated R Printing 125-114 for the second seat of the championship series for Group B. Knights played their offense well in the dying minutes. Garcia top-scored with 41 points for Knights and was adjudged as the JBL best player of the game while Magno had 29 points for R Printing.
Sidlak White beat Bagwis Red 105-95 in the JBL Teens Parents Division. Sidlak went to the open man in its offense. Ruben Del Rosario scored 34 points for Sidlak and was adjudged as the Titan Watch best player of the game while Taberna had 41 points for Bagwis.
In the Mix Seniors Juniors Division, Light Blue defeated Violet 129-108 for the championship. Light Blue found its range to make the outside jumpers in the final quarter. Amparado and Ricamara scored 33 points apiece. Yellow beat Blue 111-109 for third place. Buhat scored 36 points.
In the JBL Teens Mosquitos, Black beat White 15-12 in the Small Mosquitos with Jerome Alvarina on 11 points. Black defeated White 27-17 in the Big Mosquitos. Hamza Suyat and Brent De Borja had 8 points apiece.
