RIYADH: Al Faisaliah Team B captained by Muhammad Salman beat Saleem’s Novotel Al Anoud by 4 runs for its first victory while in the afternoon matcn, Sowri Rajan’s Ritz Carlton recovered from its first defeat at the hands of InterCon to win by 36 runs against Riyadh Marriott in the 16th Annual Riyadh Inter-Hotels Cricket Tournament 2015.

This event for the benefit of Children of Unicef is hosted by Sheraton Riyadh Hotel & Towers through GM Paul C. Dunphy.

Novotel won the toss and chose to field. Captain Saleem was the successful bowler from the Novotel. In his 4 overs quota, Saleem gave up 21 runs and took 5 wickets and a hat trick while helping restrict Faisaliah Team B to only 96 runs. Sameer also enjoyed good bowling in his 4 over quotas with only 13 runs and 3 wickets. However, Saleem was the match's best bowler with 5 wickets and hat trick.

With an achievable target of 97 runs, Novotel was in jubilation. To Novotel's surprise, Faisaliah Team B thwarted the enemy's designs. Faisaliah Team B bowler Fayyaz in his 3 overs spell managed to get 3 wickets for only 9 runs while his teammate Zaheer took 2 wickets, Saeed also 2 wickets, and Al Faisaliah Team B controlled Novotel at 92 runs all out for 16 overs. Faisaliah Team B won by 4 runs.

In the afternoon, Ritz Carlton won the toss and opted to bat first against Riyadh Marriott, and the first pair was not a good start. Ragu was bowled out on the first ball and in succeeding overs, the wickets continued to fall until in the middle order. Faizan had a good batting performance for 51 runs including 5 sixes. Raza was 23 not out in a decent total of 170 for Ritz Carlton.

In reply, skipper Irfan Khoder of Marriott was very optimistic to reach their target of 171 but was dismayed as the Ritz Carlton bowlers Touqeer took 3 wickets for only 24 runs, Ragu got 3 wickets for 12 runs and Terrence 2 wickets for only 12 runs. The top batsman at Riyadh Marriott, Aslam, managed only 36 and was caught by Terrence. Vagith added only 17 and was bowled out by Ragum, Rohan shared 16 before being bowled out by Terence and Ritz Carlton sealed the game at 134 all out and won by 36 runs.
