RIYADH: This season, Al-Hilal will play in new iconic designed kit by Nike that reflects the club’s identity and heritage with a modern look and feel. Al-Hilal is introducing the new kit, the first in partnership with Nike, on the opening game of the Saudi Professional League on Friday.
The new home shirt is a modern classic design. The shirt, shorts and socks all come in royal blue. The shirt boasts a classic design with a sophisticated white polo neck collar, two covered buttons with white high cuffs.
On this occasion, Prince Abdulrahman bin Musa’ad Al Saud, president of Al-Hilal Club said: “Our partnership with Nike and the launch of the new home kit is a great way to start the season. There is no better testament to Al Hilal’s leadership and its commitment to innovation. I am confident that our fans will be proud of this jersey.”
“Today’s presentation of the new kit marks the beginning of an exciting new partnership for Nike through its official distributor Sun and Sand Sports and Al-Hilal.” said Mohammed Baker, CEO, Sun and Sand Sports. “We are proud to partner with Al-Hilal and look forward to inspire their football fans in the region.”
Established in 1957, Al-Hilal is said to have a reputation for being the most widely supported club in Saudi Arabia. The Riyadh-based club holds 55 official championships which include a record 40 national championships, as well as a record six Asian championships, and seven Arab and Arabian Gulf championships.
While this new kit features Nike’s signature style and passion, it has also been designed to offer players the very latest in performance innovation, kit technology and environmental sustainability.
Nike Dri-Fit technology draws sweat away from the body to the exterior of the shirts and shorts where it quickly evaporates. This allows players to perform at their absolute best by remaining cooler, drier and more comfortable.
Nike continues to place environmental sustainability at the heart of their kits, which are again made from recycled polyester this year.
These kits have been created to provide both unrivalled performance benefits and lower environmental impact.
The kits are made from recycled plastic water bottles. The shorts are 100 percent recycled polyester; the shirts are 96 percent recycled polyester, while the socks are 78 percent.
Each kit is made using an average of 18 recycled plastic bottles, and over the last four years Nike has diverted almost two billion of these bottles from landfills to produce their kits.
By using recycled polyester Nike is also reducing the energy consumed in the entire process by up to 30 percent.
The new third kit hits Nike stores across the region next month, to retail at SR365 for men and SR319 for junior.
