Al Kabeer Frozen Foods bowled true to form and romped off with a Team of the Week and Bowling of the Week double in the Thursday League 11th Conference for Mobily Cup, winning a Team of the Week and Bowler of the Week double at the Bowling City in Sultanah Center here.

Al Kabeer whose products have been touted as simply a matter of good taste was peerless on the night to compile total of 33 points, just 3 shy of the perfect score of 36.

League-leading Bowling City was a distant second place on 29 points followed by D’ Barkads 22 and Al Murjana 20. The previous week honoree Lifebuoy and Jeddah 5KKB tied on 19 points with Bulacan Knight on 14. Advance Co. and Habagat brought up the rear on 12.5 and 11.5 respectively.

Team captain Igna Salgado led from the front, shooting the high series of 659 that gave him the Bowler of the Week award for an Al Kabeer double.

Al Kabeer, which went second-second-second-first for the four-phased session, also got a big lift from Jay-R Rios with 601. Jowett Carrion on 573 was the other player to bowl complete games for Kabeer. Paolo Allego added valuable 204-244, Gerry Mandanas contributed 176-155 and Mohd Al Amri tallied 179-201.

Bowling City kept faith in a single set of five players with the duo of Ruben Grino and Frank Afurong leading the way on 604 and 603. Archie Santos tossed in 568 while Cris Villavelez and Sami Al Qarni had matching cards of 563s.

For D’ Barkads, James Galvan owned the top score of 582 to go with the 579 by Dan Ednave, 572 by Bing Amolo, 566 by Ed Sardina, 199-167 by Rey Beltran and 195 by Leo Edejer.

Jojie Manalansan was at the helm of Murjana on 590 followed by Ruel Santoc 563 and Mhon Laxamana 508. Obie Ycasas carded 184-268, Faisal Relativo shot a pair of 178s while Richard Manaog had 178-141.

Jeddah 5KKB’s Mike Protacio, Cesar Monares and Doods Versoza were among the night’s 600 series scorers on 628, 605 and 603. With two games each were Bonnie Garcia 168-169, Jack Jarin 140-151 and Ally Bin 144-162.
