RIYADH: Al Kharj, Dirab and Al-Majma’ah entered the semifinals of Champions League Twenty20 cricket tournament organized by the Riyadh Cricket Association and the Cricket Saudi International.

Hayer and Huraymala will decide the fourth semifinalist.

In the three matches played Al-Kharj eased past Diriyadh by six wickets, Huraymala routed Hayer by 57 runs and Al Majma’ah scored a thrilling 12-run win over Dirab.

In the first match, Diriyah put up a reasonable 180 for 8 from the stipulated overs after they won the toss and opted to bat.

Syed Usman top-scored with 40 while Shoaib 29 and Qaiser 28 were the other key contributors. Malik Fahad and Mubashir shared four wickets. Al Kharj chased well and achieved their target after 16.4 overs for the loss of 4 wickets. Bilal Wani 45, Malik Fahad 44 and Afzal 31 steered their team to victory.

In another encounter, Huraymala won the toss and piled up 226 off 19 overs. Nadeem Shah smashed 58 off 25 balls. Asif 35, Rizwan 29, Zeeshan 29 and Amin 22 batted well. Ishaq was the pick of the bowlers and took 2 wickets.

Hayer buckled under pressure and was bowled out for 169 after 17 overs. Zakir 55, Ishaq 51 and Abdulrehman 23 were the only batsmen who showed some resistance. Yasir Ghufoor and Zeeshan Ali grabbed 3 wickets each.

Man-of-the-Match: Nadeem Shah.

In the best match of the day, Majma’ah scored a formidable 250 for 6. Openers Abdul Waheed 76 and Ibrar ul Haq 55 provided the solid base. Later, Hamza Abbasi 47 carried the momentum in the middle order. Abdul Qadir’s 31 off 13 balls provided the ideal finish. Dirab’s bowling looked toothless other than Abdul Mannan who bowled exceptionally well and picked 5 wickets.

In reply, Dirab’s top order started well with Waseem Jutt 89, Nasir Abbasi 43 and Mannan 37 keeping with the runrate. However, the middle order collapse, thanks to brilliant bowling from Waheed and Aziz, Dirab were restricted to 238 for 8. Abdul Waheed, Aziz and Dawood shared 2 wickets each.
