JEDDAH: Al Khulais, MHA and Al Boroj Sika recorded big wins against their respective opponents in the Morning League sponsored by Reel & Rom and organized by the Jeddah Cricket Association.

Al Khulais made short work of Reel & Rom by 10 wickets, MHA routed Al Gudaid by 159 runs and Al Boroj Sika surprised Zinda Talismat by 41 runs in a low scoring match.

In other matches Jawar Al Jazirah got the better of ARM by 84 runs, Hyderabad Green shocked Natco by 6 wickets and Desert Warriors eased past Pak Young by 8 wickets

Reel & Rom batted first and scored 176 for 8. Irfan Butt top scored with 66 followed by Sami’s 43. Abid picked up 3 for 47 and Shahid 2 for 29. Khulais openers thrashed the Reel & Rom bowlers to all parts of the ground and reached their target without losing a wicket at 180 with 4 overs to spare. Aslam plundered an unbeaten 98 runs while Zahoor got 61.

MHA amassed 280 runs in their allotted overs. Zia-ul-Haq led the way with a superb 102 off 37 balls and Shad Muhammad got 72 off 27 balls. Both the openers put on 159 for the opening wicket. Atta (21) and Sher (33) used the long handle to telling effect. Saleem and Majid had 2 wickets each for 30 and 31 runs respectively.

In reply Al Gudaid were bundled out for 120. Shad (4 for 15) and Atta (2 for 13) made batting difficult for their rivals. Ameen (43) and Majid (29) put up some resistance.

In another match, Jawar Al-Jazirah scored 184 for 8 wickets against ARM. Amer Shahzad top-scored with 73. Shan Manzoor Malik (38) and Sajid (33) were the other scorers. Saadiq Merchant bowled well and took 4 for 51 including a hat trick. In reply ARM were restricted to 101 runs with none of the batsmen offering resistance. Athar (19), Najam (15) and Saadiq (10) were the only batsmen who reached double figures. Umar claimed 3 for 6 and Adnan 2 for 23 to give their side a win by 84 runs.

Pak Young posted 190 for 7 against Desert Warriors. Openers Zafar (36) and Akmal (46) scored 85 runs in 9 overs. Khattak (27) and Azmat (20) chipped in with useful contributions. Muzammil 4 for 32 runs and Basil 2 for 29 bowled a tight length.

Desert Warriors reached their target for the loss of 2 wickets. Although openers Munawwar and Razi were dismissed cheaply and were reeling at 31 for 2 an unbroken partnership between Khalid (74) and Junaid (90) yielded 160 runs.

In another match, Natco put up 219 for 9 wickets against Hyderabad Green. Adnan (55) and Majid Bhatti (60) were the top run getters. Amer Gujjar took 4 for 28, Babar claimed 3 for 29 while Amer Wahla chipped in with 2 for 34.

In reply Hyderabad Green started off aggressively with Amer Gujjar, who after shining with the ball, tried his skills as a batsmen and successfully managed to score an unbeaten 101 off only 41 balls (8 sixes, 7 fours). He was supported by Muneer (29 not out) and Javed (32). Majid Bhatti 2 for 43 and Fahad 2 for 60 bowled well but could not prevent Hyderabad Green score 220 for 4.

In a low scoring match, Al Boroj Sika managed 138 runs in their allotted overs. However the total proved too much for the experienced batting lineup of Zinda Talismat who were shot out for 98 runs. For Al Boroj, Kamran scored 24. Nadeem took 2 for 26 runs while Sarfaraz, Noor, Imtiaz and Javed had one wicket each. Arooj (21) Yaqoob (29) were the 2 batsmen who managed to reach double figures for Talismat. Sadiq and Kamran had 3 wickets each for 34 and 17 runs respectively while Niaz bagged 2 for 36 runs.

Butt Sports managed 127 for 6 against ICC Irfan Basha. Imran (21), Junaid (41) and Tahir (37) were the main scorers. However Butt Sports conceded the score at this stage in favor of ICC Irfan Basha.
