EDDAH: Al Murjana posted the most number of Team of Week victories at four while cementing its hold on the No. 1 spot following another solid performance during the 11th session in the Thursday League 16th Season for Sarawat Superstores Cup at the Bowling City here.
Murjana rode a fast start to the top tally of 30 points to be 6 points clear of D’ Barkads 24 at the end of session where the previous week honoree Al Kabeer Frozen Foods wound up third on 23.
Habagat and AL Striker followed Al Kabeer on 22.5 and 20.5 respectively. Jem Striker took the sixth position on the night with 19, while the last three teams to check in were Sarawat Superstores 18, Casadores 12 and Salam Rice 11.
Despite finishing last, Salam had some reason to cheer after one of its players, Ed Butardo, emerged Bowler of the Week after shooting the high series of 679 on lines of 234, 205 and 195.
The quartet of Ruel Santoc, Mhon Laxamana, Jojie Manalansan and Frank Afurong built Murjana’s leading total with respective rounds of 647, 616, 607 and 583, with help from Nap Patayan 259-182 and Rene Ocampo 186.
At D’ Barkads the big numbers came from Ed Sardiña and Romy Bunagan at 654 and 642. James Galvan likewise went the distance on 625 as did Bing Amolo 578 while three remaining three games were shared by Joel Nidoy 156-199 and Dan Ednave 172.
Kabeer drew 615 and 605 from Bandr Al Dossary and Archie Santos. The other scorers for the team were Nanding Siasoco 582, Rally Zamora 215-212, Jhune Estefano 163-224 and Rommel Agbayani 195-162.
For Habagat it was Rommel Cagampang that led the way with the night’s second-best score of 666 while Wilson Triguero had 629, Manny Tibay 603, Med Ramos 577 and Edu Toledo 556 in a five-man rotation.
Gerry Lim registered the third-best score of 660 while at the helm of AL Striker which also netted 629 from Cesar Monares, 617 from Jack Jarin, 529 from Ally Bin, 205-163 from Benjie Cils and 208 from Bonnie Garcia.
