Al-Nassr Sports Club has reached an agreement with its Brazilian midfielder Rafael Bastos who accused the management of preventing him from traveling to his country by denying him a visa.

Al-Nassr had earlier announced its intention to sell the player’s contract. In a meeting earlier this week, the management reiterated its request from the player that he files an official request to leave for Brazil for a certain period as he is still bound by contract. Another option was that he manages to obtain an official transfer offer from a club that buys the remaining period of the contract. Bastos reportedly asked for a few days to think about the options.

The player had been accusing the club of delaying his payments and described the situation as he being made a “hostage.” However, the club said that since the player asked “verbally” that he wanted to travel, the club asked him to file an official request but he did not.

Bastos took a transfer Romanian Cluj to the Saudi club in January 2013. He played several matches for Al-Nassr until before the team’s important match with second-place Al-Hilal a month ago, when he refused to take the field unless his dues were paid. The action caused Al-Nassr management to end their contract with him, along with the other two other Brazilian players — Elton Xavier and Everton da Silva. However, the two reached different arrangements with Nassr. Elton Xavier continued playing, Everton left for Brazil.
