RIYADH: Dirab Golf & Country Club rounds off a busy month of February with the staging Saturday of the 6th Annual Alawwal Bank Open Golf Tournament 2017.

After the team format in the CCOR Canadian Open and Emirates NBD Open, Saturday’s event returns to the individual stroke play format for 18 holes.

As usual, the tournament with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. will feature three divisions for men and one division for ladies. Major prizes will be awarded for up to third place in each division and, on top of that, a separate prize/trophy for Overall Best Gross and Overall Best Net is on offer. Also, there will be skill prizes for longest drive for men and ladies and closest to the pin unizex.

The Alawwal Bank event has attracted a full field of players who each will receive goody bag with Callaway polo shirt, Callaway cap, sleeve of golf balls and golf towel.

The partnership between the club and Alawwal Bank dates back to when the bank was known as Saudi Hollandi Bank. SHB has changed its name to Alawwal Bank as part of a new corporate identity. Alawwal, meaning “The First” in Arabic, references the bank’s status as the first bank to launch in the country in 1926.
