Damian Lillard added 21 points and 11 assists and hit a pair of clinching free throws with 2.1 seconds left for Portland, which beat Oklahoma City for the second time in December. Portland (25-7) snapped a two-game losing streak but still trails Oklahoma City (25-6) by a half-game in the Northwest Division standings.

Kevin Durant had 37 points and 14 rebounds for the Thunder, which had won 12 of its last 13 and 20 of its last 22 games before Tuesday. But Durant managed only one point in the fourth quarter and missed an 11-foot jumper that would have tied the game in the final seconds.

Greivis Vasquez hit a 3-pointer two minutes into the fourth to give Toronto (14-15) its first lead of the second half, and the Raptors didn’t look back. Vasquez scored seven of his nine points in the fourth quarter, and also had two assists and a blocked shot in the final quarter as Toronto overcame the tenacious Bulls defense.

Luol Deng led Chicago (12-18) with 16 points in his return to the court after missing five games due to a sore left Achilles tendon.

They had never ended a calendar year with more than three consecutive defeats in any of the franchise’s 65 previous seasons. Los Angeles will begin the new year 13-19 — the team’s first losing record since the 2002-03 season, when they also started out 13-19 following their third straight NBA title.

Pau Gasol and Nick Young each scored 25 points for the Lakers, who shot 35.8 percent from the field. Young, who led the team in scoring in each of the previous six games as a reserve, made his seventh start of the season.

Hawks 92, Celtics 91: Playing without injured center Al Horford, the Atlanta Hawks pulled off a pair of comebacks to edge the Boston Celtics on Tuesday afternoon at TD Garden.

The Hawks, 2-1 since Horford was lost for the season with a torn right pectoral muscle, fell behind by 18 points in the first half. Atlanta rallied to inch ahead but trailed by 11 with 5:54 left in the game.

With a 10-0 run, the Hawks got right back in it and survived a wild final 90 seconds during which neither team scored.

Boston guard Jordan Crawford missed an off-balance jumper at the buzzer, allowing the Hawks to improve to 18-14.

Pacers 91, Cavaliers 76: Forward Paul George contributed a game-high 21 points and corralled eight rebounds to lead the Indiana Pacers to a victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers on Tuesday in front of a sold-out crowd at Bankers Life Fieldhouse.
