Alinma Bank captained by ITBR Chairman Bobby Ting secured its fourth Team of the Week award to regain the second spot in the team standings after the 12th session in the Inter-Bank Tenpin Bowling League 2013 Conference at the InterContinental Hotel Bowling Center here.
In regaining momentum Alinma almost blanked BSF 3-1 (290-80 points). Though in second place Alinma is still 221 points behind No. 1 Shabab SABB. Romy Burgos, Jojo de Silva, Willie Bondoc and Obet Mata fired 738, 730, 726 and 706 at the helm of Alinma with support from Angelo Train and Vic Aggregado, who tallied 390 and 361 in the five-man team tournament organized by Interbank Tenpin Bowlers of Riyadh and sponsored by all participating banks.
Noel Morales was the main man at BSF at 748 while Dawood Sereno, Edwin Timango and captain Jun Bantug rolled 690, 640 and 637 respectively. Joseph Adao and Jerry Villanueva had 380 and 356.
Shabab SABB retained the top spot for the third week in a row, thrashing BSF-CBG 3-1 (260-50 points). Shabab enjoyed the combined excellent performance of Sam Alinsod, Jaffer Al Kathiri, Francis Guron and Arnold Jesena who rolled 763, 739, 737 and 659. Captain Ahmed Qarquosh and Luis Bonguit rolled 350 and 333.
The consistent duo of Alfred Estrada and Abet Minosa led BSF-CBG with 725 and 644. They were assisted by Ricky Dominguez 522, Art Bumatay 507, captain Ken Hechanova 504 and Guilbert Masias 460.
SHB is closing the gap between second and third spots as it defeated SAMA-Abana 3-1 (180-50 points). The trio of Arnel Bernabe, Clem Salazar and captain Greg Antonio inspired their teammates with 745, 745 and 709. Cholo Nieto and Gerry Ayonon added 512 and 485 while Val Baraquio had 336.
The defeat cost SAMA-Abana a notch lower to third in the team standings as captain Teody Zulaybar failed to effectively maneuver his five-man rotation.
In the other match, PNB Unified mentored by Usman Navarro defeated SAIB 3-1 (210-130). Mixi Lechuga and Sonny Alviso fired 799 and 712 to lead their team to victory. Ronald Cruz and Freddie Solomon rolled 497 and 492 while Tenz Taeza, James Frizzle and Patrick Alviso scored 372, 352 and 330.
SAIB team captain Dong Calub was at his best as he clinched Bowler of the Week honors after shooting the high series of 809. His team had a good start as they blanked their opponent during the first game 130-0. However, the next three games were entirely a different story as Calub failed to find a way to win. Ed Robillos and Agie Dazo had 746 and 683 while veteran Joey Salem and Mike Benito contributed 346 and 336 for SAIB.
