Abdul Latif Jameel United Leasing Co. Ltd. Brought down AVK 77-74 in the first game for both teams in Inter-Company Division C during the 9th week where Friday games were put off following the death of King Abdullah in the Microsoft Lumia & 36th FBA Basketball Tournament at the Sheraton Jeddah Hotel court.

In another Division C match, Maaden (MGBM) looked good in a 70-55 thrashing of Jeddah United, with Best Player Mously and Reloj sharing scoring honors on 26 points.

Bindawood drew 28 points from Best Player Yves Abubakar including 12 points in the fourth quarter while Barry Nader had topscoring 31 in a thrilling 87-85 victory over Sweet Bloomer.

Quijano tallied 12 points and Ismael 8 for Bindawood.

Lisztian Amparado scored 22 points to lead Sweet Bloomer, which became the first team to cross the century mark when it beat Nesma 101-91 during the third week of eliminations in the seven-division tournament. Defensor contributed 17 points while Harry Santiago and Defensor each tossed in 12 points for Sweet Bloomer.

Uncle Majid Rice & Toppings poured in 33 points in the third quarter and went on to post an 84-67 victory over Inter-Continental Jeddah Hotel in a rematch of their Inter-Hotel & Restaurant finals in the last conference.

With the win Francis Magat’s Uncle Majid squad rebounded from an 82-70 defeat by unbeaten Durrat Al-Arous while improving its record to 2-2 in the team standings.

Brothers Ron and Noy Magat scored 17 and 15 points for Uncle Majid but Reyes on 14 points was the Best Player of the game.

Jay Liam enjoyed a strong game with 40 points at the vanguard of InterCon but failed to get enough support from his teammates with Nader as the only other player on double-digit with 13.

Paul Taguba was named Best Player in the ALJ United Leasing triumph. He finished with 12 points with teammates Natividad and Dorado scoring 21 and 15 respectively. Montano dela Cruz had 13 and Garzola added 8 points.

Yusuf was the top scorer at AVK on 26 points followed by Bacarat 17, Palo 13 and Cordovez 8 points.

In the other game Thursday, McVities hammered out an 80-70 victory over Huta.

Best Player Acosta had 20 points for McVities to go with the 27 by Gonzales, 14 by David and 12 by Alonto.

Meantime, Friday’s schedule will have five interesting games headlined by the Western Union-Avengers clash in the Inter-Commercial Open Rated at 7 p.m.

Al Saady Trading and Vicky and Sam’s Pride face off at 8:30 p.m. in an Inter-Company A game that could go either way.

Cabalen Restaurant takes on Jeddah Hilton in the nightcap at 10 p.m. The first game pits JCF against Huta (Inter-Company D) at 4 p.m. followed by the Silencer-Al Muhaidib game (Inter-Commercial Open Non-Rated) at 5:30 p.m.

Microsoft Lumia is the major sponsor of the tournament organized in partnership with Team-Up Event Management headed by Mustafa Al-Saady and Rashad Barmada.
