A surprising three pointer helped Awdah snatch an 80-78 victory against Petromin to remain undefeated at 5-0 in the OFBL 4th Season Evening Games Inter-Company Reinforced Division at Timeout Sports Academy Gymnasium on Television St. , Ghulail District on the outskirts of Jeddah.

Down by 10 points at halftime, Awdah regrouped and started to play good basketball to keep pace with Petromin and gradually reduced the rival’s lead in the second half.

With the score tied at 77, Petromin had a chance to take the lead from the free-throw line. Geron missed the first but converted the second to put Petromin up by 1 with 18 seconds to play. Petromin applied tough defense to deny Awdah any chance to score, till Sta. Maria hit a three-pointer unexpectedly in the dying seconds. That crucial shot was Sta. Maria’s lone basket of the game.

Mendoza led Awdah with 33 points, Sanchez contributed 10 points and Natividad added 9 points. Herrero led the losing team with 21 points, while Historillo and Geron had 10 points apiece.

In another thrilling game in Inter-Company Reinforced Division, KAMC edged out Silencer 71-70.

Both teams went head to head throughout the game, and the issue was settled in the free throw line, with Pagtalunan hitting a game-tying shot plus a foul in the dying seconds. He converted the bonus shot and KAMC stole the game from Silencer.

Manalili was in great form to spearhead the winning team with an astounding 32 points. He was helped out by Huerto, who totaled 12 points, and Pagtalunan with 9 points including the last 5 KAMC points. Castillo led Silencer’s losing cause, as he almost single-handedly carried his team with his outstanding 43-point performance. Olegario contributed 11 points and Ocampo 7. KAMC improved to 3-2 while Silencer dropped to 1-4 in the team standings.

In the Inter-Company Bonafide Division, Al Majdouie defeated Grain Silos to retain the No. 1 position going to the semifinals with a 5-1 tally.

Punay tossed in 22 points to lead Al Majdouie, with Suarez scoring 14 points and Sabio 12.

Meanwhile, in the Friday Morning Games Non Rated Division B, Roxonin underlined its authority winning decisively over a determined Jeddah Falcon 82-67.

Abella and and Sumikiab combined well to lead the way for Roxonin, tallying 24 points and 22 points respectively. Bernardino added 14 points. Navarro scored 22 points, Chua 17 points and Arano 16 points for Jeddah Falcon.

Roxonin will meet the winner of the match between Yummy Yummy and Al Shaya in the semifinals next week.

After a tight first half, Nesma blew the game open in the third quarter with a 37-16 run, and won comfortably by 16 points over Okaz 87-71 in the Non Rated B Division. Nesma played great as a team with 5 players reaching double digit scores ¬– Llanos 19 points, Callueng 11 and Buhat, Estrella and Mohamed 10 points each.

For Okaz, Repollo had 18 points, Mahistrado 16 and Abiertal 14. Nesma faced Maxim Jamjoom in the first semifinal.
