JEDDAH: Bank AlJazira Fawri enjoyed a good night out on the Bowling City lanes to win Team of the Week honors and the bonus of the No. 1 spot during the 6th session in the FTBJ 52nd Open Conference bowling tournament.
The Bankers had little trouble to practically run away with the top tally of 32 points, well ahead of Sarimanok and D’ Barkads who tied on 26 points.
Solid Striker was five points further back on 21 with Sagmit Dental Clnic and Sky Freight-OSN in another deadlock on 20 points.
BCT-Saudi Master Baker compiled 17 points to be alone in 7th position on the night in the five-man team Saturday league event.
Tommy Kamal of D’ Barkads carded scratch games of 210, 212 and 236 and proceeded to take Bowler of the Week honors on 700.
Except for the second game won by Sky Freight it was all AlJazira Fawri, which posted the first-place points of 9 for the first and third games and overall output. The only blot to an otherwise sublime display was fifth-place for 5 points in the second game. The team started the night just 1 point behind erstwhile league leader Sagmit Dental Clinic.
Four players rolled three-game series at AlJazira, led by Nezar Al Hamwe who shot 680. Randy Mata and Bing Amolo both were equally solid on 653 and 651 while Wilson Triguero added 641. Jowet Carion had 224-203 and Nonie Yap 244.
The duo of Paolo Allego and Melo Dianco showed the way at Sarimanok with rounds of 673 and 622 followed by Jimmy Urbano, the other player to complete three games on 594. With two games each were Mark Piosca 213-189, Tope Sayson 190-200 and Edwin Ronquillo 256-179.
Besides Kamal the other leading scorers at D’ Barkads were Leo Edejer and Rommel Cagampang on 663 and 631 that went with the 176-213 by George Mangaliman, 181-136 by Manny Tibay and 232-214 by Zaldy Bacero.
At Solid Striker Nap Patayan was at the helm of a six-man rotation on 664. Richard Antonio, Rene Ocampo and Mhon Laxamana contributed 626, 621 and 620, while Philip Raymundo and Jojie Manalansan shared the remaining three games on 223-213 and 200.
