Former champion Banque Saudi Fransi captained by Jun Bantug clinched Team of the Week honors and in the process grabbed the top spot from defending champion Shabab SABB during the third week of the 2014 Interbank Tenpin Bowling League in Riyadh.

BSF defeated SAMA-Abana by 4-0 shutout (374-0) in an impressive display that Dawood Sereno made more memorable when he pocketed the Bowler of the Week award after shooting the high series of 787.

Carding equally superb games to support Sereno were Noel Morales (772), JR Diaz (754), AJ Bonifacio (739) and Bantug (659).

SAMA-Abana Unified team captain Teody Zulaybar failed to score against their opponent due to low output. Jun Macarandan produced an excellent performance with his 771 but failed to get support form his teammates. Bernie Torres, Remy Generales and Koko Torres contributed 643, 590 and 579. Zulaybar and David Smart had 372 and 322.

Saudi Hollandi Bank was at its best form as they demolished BSF-CBG 3-1 (230-80). Team captain Greg Antonio and Arnel Bernabe inspired their team members with series highs of 774 and 709. Veterans Gil Hembra and Clem Salazar rolled 543 and 445 while Val Baraquio, Gerry Ayonon and Rommel Calungcagin tallied 391, 316 and 274.

Straight bowler Alfred Estrada top-scored at BSF-CBG on 701. He was assisted by Abet Minoza (688) and Guilbert Masias (679). Andy Illanza rolled 490 in three games while Art Bumatay and Dennis Buot toppled 340 and 300 pinfalls. Marty Abuloc had 146.

Riyad Bank continued its winning streak and almost blanked third placer Alinma Bank 180-50. The foursome of Freddie Solomon, captain Zohair Oqilan, Ronald Cruz and Sonny Alviso produced excellent four-game series of 729, 690, 684 and 652 to narrow the gap on their rivals. Mixi Lechuga contributed 318 while James Frizzle and Ric Singson had 148 and 138 in one game.

Team captain Jojo de Silva had difficulties in manpower maneuvering to match the performance of their opponent. Rainier Torres was the highest scorer on 479. He was assisted by Angel Train (476), Willie Bondoc (448), Abdulrahman Ahmed (440) and Jerry Barce (423). Vic Aggregado and captain Jojo de Silva rolled 388 and 297 in two games.

Shabab SABB overpowered Saudi Investment Bank 150-50 but failed to stop the BSF takeover at the top of the leader board. The trio of Arnold Jesena, Luis Bonguit and Jaffer Al-Kathiri fired four-game series of 694, 615 and 565. Captain Ahmed Al-Qarqoush and Edwin Nunez tallied 534 and 504 while Mike Shariff had 360.

Jonathan Avenido led SAIB on 711. He was assisted by veteran Joey Salem (638), captain Dong Calub (609) and Gil Catulay (588).

The tournament is played Monday nights at its new venue Universal Bowling Center in Riyadh and is sponsored by all participating banks.
