JEDDAH: BCT-Al Kabeer overcame a slow start to clinch Team of the Week honors during the 7th session in the FTBJ 53rd Open Conference bowling tournament at the Bowling City.
BCT managed to pick up pace after a mere 4 points in sixth place after the first game and ended up with the top tally of 29 points, three in front of Bank AlJazira Fawri, which returned 26 points.
Sagmit Dental Clinic was half a point further back on 25. 5 points followed by 40/20 Bowlers 22 points, D’ Barkads 21 and Seiko Watch 19.5 points.
Ramiz Ayoub, Cash Pinas-SFF and Taurus were the last three to check in with 17, 15 and 5 points.
Randy Mata of Bank AlJazira rolled the high series of 686 on lines of 258, 215 and 213 to become the session’s Bowler of the Week in the five-man team Saturday night league event.
Rommel Agbayani, Philip Raymundo and Gerry Mandanas hit full games of 625, 579 and 563 at BCT. Complementing the trio’s efforts with two games each were Jojie Manalansan 186-193, Mohd. Al Amari 234-232 and skipper Igna Salgado 186-194.
Mata’s total topped the AlJazira’s production that included 570 and 555 from Nezar Al Hamwe and Melvin Lising, 247-181 from Atoi Cruz and 173 from Jowet Carion.
Rene Ocampo and Joey Calapatia fired three-game series of 652 and 611 at the helm of an SDC charge that also featured the 532 from Marlon Bernabe, 140-196 from Bench Espinosa, 264-212 from June Estefano and 175-148 from Kemo Filemban.
Over at 40/20 Danny Bautista led all scorers on 643 followed by Mhon Laxamana 595, Cesar Monares 578, Frank Afurong 564 and Tommy Kamal 563.
Leage-leading D’ Barkads had the duo of Rommel Cagampang and Med Ramos leading the way on 632 and 619 to go with the 548 by Leo Edejer, 527 by Gerry Tano, 183-191 by Rudy Valenzuela and 225 by Zaldy Bacero.
