JEDDAH: BCT-Lutong Pinoy made sure it will have a second serving of Team of the Week award with another solid performance during the 18th session and final week of eliminations in the OSN-FTBJ 50th Open Conference bowling tournament at the Bowling City here.

Three weeks after nailing its first team accolade, the late-blooming BCT-Lutong Pinoy returned the top tally of 40 points and effectively gained ground on league-leading Sky Freight OSN, which came through on 38.5 points.

Half a point back on 38 points was previous week honoree Alfa Moe Yasser while Xtreme Taurus was fourth on the night with 31 points.

D’ Barkads pooled 30.5 points, Masaken had 30, GBI-TBBGI 28.5 and Habagat 22.5. Red Dragons, Al Murjana and MC Hammer all tie on 16 points, while Bnak AlJazira Fawri brought up the rear on 5.

While an attempt at No. 1 vice Sky Freight is a daunting task indeed second place looks a cinch for Lutong Pinoy when the positioning matches take place Saturday.

Lutong Pinoy bowled steady while its rivals suffered fluctuating fortunes in the race for honors.

Nezar Al Hamwe carded 674 at the helm of Lutong Pinoy with Gerry Mandanas just 2 pins shy of 600 on 598. Paul Antiporda shot 537 as the third player to complete three-game series. Solid two-game contributions came from skipper Igna Salgado 232-204 and Ed Sardiña 190-222 while Mohd Al Amri made 189-164.

Oca Bernabe enjoyed a Bowler of the Week award-winning performance while leading the Sky Freight charge. Bernabe shot the high series of 699 on lines of 249, 216 and 234. Bonnie Garcia and Goying Salazar comlemented Bernabe with rounds of 637 and 632. Nanding Siasoco compiled 552 to go with the 170-198 by James Galvan and 201 by Pancho Cuevas.

Xtreme Taurus had Jimmy Urbano at the top of the scoring ladder on 634. The duo of Alex Flora and Ric Nangel followed on 591 and 530, while with two games each were Raul delos Reyes 221-169, Edwin Ronquuillo 215-247 and Joel Nidoy 211-199.
