Toyota was ahead by 13 points to end the first half but BHBC stepped up in the last two quarters, outscoring the enemy 61-36 and clinching a 92-80 victory that completed BHBC title sweep in the OFBL 3rd Conference Friday Evening Inter-Company Reinforced Division at Timeout Sports Academy Gymnasium on Television St. , Ghulail District on the outskirts of Jeddah.

Toyota found BHBC unstoppable in the entire second half as the eventual champions capitalized on their speed with a run-and-gun game, high shooting percentage and formidable defense, which saw them forcing turnovers from press, anticipating passes and converting fast break points time and again.

Five BHBC players scored in double digits headed by Nemitz Dangao who netted 24 points, followed by

Haz who collected 23 points including 5 3-pointers, Marwan who tallied 19 points, Nalagon with 16 points and Garibay with 10 points. Gino Cicot led the way for the losing team with 13 points. He had help from Dorado 15 points, Muhammad 13 points and Montano Dela Cruz 9 points.

In the other Friday Evening Division championship, Bupa roared past Hidada with a 26-17 run in the deciding quarter to pull off an 81-76 victory, tie the series at 1-1 and force a knockout game for the Inter-Company Bonafide Division championship title.

Bupa had been trailing behind Hidada in the first three quarters, but regrouped in the last period, played effective defense to turn the odds in its favor.

The tandem of Dawood and Sorila led the Bupa’s offense with 25 and 21 respectively. They had significant support from Tabao who contributed 11 points, Caisip and Laxamana who both had 7 points. The losing team got 15 points from Carbonell, 13 points apiece from Minoza and Pasculado and 8 points from Cabuno.

Meanwhile, the championship games started in the Friday Morning divisions with Nesma taking the first game against Dabarkadz 76-65. Castillo played an outstanding game, hitting a game-high 38 points. Dela Cruz added 16, Tolentino netted 8 and Callueng had 7 points for Nesma. While Oliver Keiron Reyes had 16 points, Mangalindan 11, Cruz 10 and Verzosa 9 for the losing team.

Yummy Yummy grabbed the third place versus Jeddah Dreamers, as it dominated each of the four periods to finish with a convincing 63-44 victory. Makuha top-scored for Yummy Yummy with 26 points , Suba had 10, Faurillo added 9 and Ablaza had 7 points. Jeddah Dreamers got 12 points from Eborda, 11 from Alidio and 9 from Estinor.

Also, Okaz secured the first game of the Rated C Division championship series, as it overpowered Toyota with an impressive 91-73 victory.

The Friday Morning Division championship games continue today with Nesma and Okaz both seeking a sweep of the best-of-three finals against Dabarkadz and Toyota.
