The 4th MYN-Jeddah Lifestylez Basketball League opened last Friday at the Bin Mahfouz basketball court in Andalus District here.

Participating teams paraded in their resplendent uniforms during the opening ceremony which JBL President Mohammed Rasheed Suyat and MYN Sports Commissioner Dennis Elmenzo presided. Hussam Nabulsi of Chili’s, Reginaldo Maga of Al Naghi and Nadeem Khan of United LG were the VIP guests.

The awards for the Best Team in uniform went to Al Naghi 1st place, Hyundai Castrol 2nd place and United Naghi LG 3rd place. All three teams scored 100 percent in the criteria but Al Naghi won first place in the tiebreak. Claiming the Best Muse awards were Naghi and United Naghi LG ,while the best Team Mascot winners were Hyundai Castrol, Range Rover and Al Naghi.

In the opening game, BMW of Sherwin Cabading defeated Chili’s 66-53. It was a battle of title favorites in the MYN division as Chili’s had a massive team rebuilding for this conference but BMW showed teamwork to demolish the Chili’s defensive wall in the final quarter. Seguis scored 24 points for BMW and was adjudged as the Lifestylez Best Player of the game while Deiparine top-scored with 21 points for Chili’s.

United Naghi of Dante Caraan beat Range Rover51-34. United Naghi played its offense well in the fourth quarter as Range Rover slowly felt the pressure on the defensive end. Recayo led United Naghi with 20 points and was adjudged as the JBL Best Player of the game while Sniper pumped 8 points for Range Rover.

Ruwais of Boy Parto defeated Al Kaki 51-42 in the Unity Games. Ruwais was unstoppable and Al Kaki lost t steam in the dying minutes. Alicna led Ruwais with 25 points and was adjudged as the Lifestylez Best Player of the game while J. Cabalu had 22 points for Al Kaki.

Al Bawadi 1 beat Al Baladia 76-50. Al Baladia played good offense in the first quarter but Al Bawadi 1 using pressure defense never looked back by the time it found its groove in the second quarter. Prado Lopez scored 22 points for Bawadi 1 and was adjudged as JBL Best Player of the game.

Nexus Flight Operations of Enrico Reyes defeated Harakat 74-63 in the Division B category. Nexus played good offense in the whole game, Harakat tried hard but faded in the final quarter.

Solid North of Pablo Viscayno and MJ Calungcaguin defeated Mr. Foodstuff 87-66. Solid North’s outside shooting put the team in good stead against Mr. Foodstuff. Viscayno and Padernal each had 13 points or Solid North and were adjudged as the Lifestylez Best Players of the game.

Petro Rabigh of Migs Diaz and Santos downed Al Shaheq 92-59. Petro Rabigh team manager Agpalo praised his players for playing hard to win. Diaz and Arlanza led Petro Rabigh with 16 points apiece to be the JBL Best Players of the game.
