The Dirab Ladies Group got together again after a lull in competition during the Al Qalzam Fisheries Restaurant Ladies Open Golf Tournament on Wednesday at Dirab Golf & Country Club on the outskirts of Riyadh.

Hyejin Byoun enjoyed a big day out on the course, winning the Alpha Group in the Stableford format competition and sweeping the awards for longest drive and nearest to the pin.

Byoun, with a 9 handicap, shot 38 points, the equivalent of 2-under in medal play, with Susan Terries runner-up on 34 points.

Fauzia Shamim was the winner in Beta Group on 37 points. Mari Laure Bellat was the runner-up on 36.

Al Qalzam Fisheries Assistant Manager Noureddine Ayyad with captain waiter Abderazak handed out prizes to the winners during the awards ceremony at the clubhouse.

DHL Corporate Open Golf Tournament tees off tomorrow

Meantime, the DHL Corporate Texas Scramble Open Golf Tournament 2015, will be held on Friday with a 7:30 a.m. shotgun start.

DHL becomes the third new company this year after Meem By GIB and Saudi Fransi Capital to join the growing list of corporate backers of Dirab Golf & Country that are taking the lead in the promotion of golf I Saudi Arabia.

The two ball Texas Scramble format event will have prizes for winners scaled down to the fifth place in addition to skills prizes for longest drive for men and ladies and closest to the pin.

There are so far 110 players that confirmed participation in the tournament, according to organizers.

Each participant will receive giveaways (golf shirt, towel and a sleeve of golf balls) at the registration area courtesy of DHL Saudi Arabia.
