JEDDAH: BCT Lane Rippers wrote another chapter in FEDBG events when the brilliant Rommel Cagampang led Edu Toledo, Rey Feliciano and Med Ramos against the powerhouse Four Season quartet of Igna Salgado, Jojie Manalansan, Rene Ocampo and Steve Fragata during the championship of the Tuesday Night Bowling League 8 th Conference at the Bowling City here.

Prior to the championship three teams played xciting matches with defending champion Legend beating AD-AL team 815-770 in which Sari J, team captain Abdulrahman Fageih, Hassan Suqati and Hassan Oraif carding 260, 218, 164 and 173 respectively. Going up against back-to-back titlist Kolokoy, Legend failed to progress furtehr when Alex Flora and Zaldy Bacero fired 246 and 226 that topped the combined 422 from Sari and Oraif. With skipper Ernie Geslani and George Mangaliman on a total of 362, Kolokoy beat Legend in all angles as Fageih and Suqati could only give 349 to settle for fourth place on total pinfalls of 834-771.

Matched against Four Season, Bacero and Flora were out of sorts which Geslani and Mangaliman tried to make up with their series of bags. Sensing these difficulties of Kolokoy’s main bets, Four Season had Fragata and Ocampo bagging and with the planking of Salgado and Manalansan got closer on the 9th frame. The 10th frame then decided the match when Fragata and Ocampo shot 260 and 229 which was way short of Geslani 260 and Mangaliman 236 but then Salgado and Manalansan outscored Bacero and Flora at 375-349 for total pinfalls of 858-845 that advanced Four Season to the title match.

With the match pitting Manalansan vs. Ramos, Ocampo vs. Feliciano, Fragata vs. Cagampang and Salgado vs. Toledo, Four Season was steadily in advantage till 6th frame at 428-420. But with skipper Cagampang stringing strikes from 5th frame, Lane Rippers slowly pulled away from 7th frame (516-505) that increased even more despite the determined stand by Four Season.

Stretching his bags till 10th frame, Cagampang inspired his teammates with 257 scratch towing the Rippers to a 735-704 scratch final tallies including the contributions from Ramos, Feliciano and Toledo at 478. For Four Season, Manalansan, Ocampo Fragata and Salgado carded 177, 153, 187 and 187.
