JEDDAH: Casadores outbowled everyone else in a strong performance to become the Team of the Week during the third session in the FTBJ-ICBL 37th Conference bowling tournament, at the Bowling City here.
Casadores returned the highest total pinfalls of 3, 661 to claim honors from D’ Barkads, who settled for second best on 3, 591 followed by JP Singco 3, 567 Virgin Mobile 3, 417 Pin Slashers 3, 394 and previous week honoree Sagmit Dental Clinic 3, 369.
The Bowler of the Week awardees were Eloisa Fernandez on the ladies side and Mohd. Al Amri on the men’s division. Fernandez of Virgin Mobile rolled three-game series of 643 to show the way in her division while Al Amri carded a stupendous 717 to complete a Team of the Week and men’s Bowler of the Week double for Casadores.
Al Amri fired lines of 226, 212 and 255 as his robust play rubbed off on teammates Lyn Sayson and Jimmy Urbano who shot 617 and 603. The others that contributed to the Casadores cause were Marlon Bernabe 597, Nathy Pusag 566 and Rey Beltran 561.
Over at D’ Barkads the trio of Ed Sardiña, Rudy Valenzuela and Cheryl Tibay wielded the big stick with rounds of 648, 646 and 601 that went with the 597, 573 and 526 by Gerry Tano, Leo Edejer and Thess Grandia.
JP Singco while not the best team on the day had some reason to celebrate as it took over the league lead from Sky Freight-Virgin Mobile, which slipped three notches to fourth in the team standings right behind Pin Slashers and Sagmit Dental Clinic.
Chief in the rise of Singco to the top were Randy Mata, Paolo Allego and Nezar Al Hamzi who rolled 647, 631 and 619. Complementing the three were Jeannette Cerbito and Lou Punzalan who had matching cards of 572s and Melo Dianco who added 526.
Besides Fernandez Virgin Mobile also got solid stuff from Phil Raymundo with his 619, while Jayson Castillo contributed 578, Rene Ocampo 541, Mhon Laxamana 521 and Shirley Sagmit 512.
Matet Cavite and Roger Daquioag narrowly missed 600 on 599 and 598 respectively at the helm of Pin Slashers who drew 591 from May Lourdes, 570 from Rom Cagampang, 542 from Dariel Loquias and 494 from Hanna Reyes.
